Collide By Gail McHugh
My Review
If you want a love triangle involving an all-around good guy, a human version of Prince Hans from Frozen, and a girl who’s torn between what her heart desperately wants and what she feels like she is supposed to need, then welcome to your next read.
A good thing about a book written in 3rd person is that you get both sides of the main characters POVs. The downside is that while you, well, we can see just who Emily’s boyfriend Dillion is, aside from her friend Olivia, Emily doesn’t, and that’s stressful AF to a reader.
So fair warning to the hopeless romantics such as myself, you won’t be able to help feeling Emily’s struggle for the love and security we all know she truly deserves.

Comments & Side Notes
§ Who TF is Monica?: This is the first time we see what type of scumbag Dillion really is and how Gavin truly respects Emily when he goes off on Dillion at the club when Gavin is *formally* introduced to Emily. Not only is Dillion a douche for actively cheating on Em, but he has his friends lying and covering for his punk ass…and that’s just the beginning.
§ The sexual tension between these two (like on page 154-155) is REAL! Even I’m trying to catch my breath as I read.
Quotable Highlights
“Well, you’re assuming I would cheat on my boyfriend to go out on a date with you, so that right there makes you a cheater.”
“I’m hoping you’ll break up with your boyfriend and go out on a date with me,” […] “That right there makes me an honest man.”
[…] “Honest, no. Conceited, yes.”
“I prefer the term hopeful.” -p. 30
Touché for both Emily and Gavin on equally valid arguments
‘Oh Lord, I’ve known him way too long. Even though I have the utmost respect for the glorious gene pool that fine piece of fuckable ass been bathed in, I sort of look at him like an older brother. It’d be way to weird.” -Olivia p. 60
Oh Olivia…she has such a way with words. LMFAO
“This has nothing to do with me wanting to fuck you.”
“Oh, it doesn’t?” […]
“No, ‘cause let’s not forget that I could’ve fucked you.” […] “I could’ve fucked you over…and over…and over again, and I could’ve fucked you very well, but I stopped because that’s not the way I want you.” -p. 246
Okay, on a serious note, is it hot in here or is it just me???
